Service and health check

Find out what your system is actually doing.

Most solar faults are quiet. Output drifts down, one string stops, a breaker trips and nothing tells you. A health check is how you find that before the bill does.

  • Ours or someone else's

Any solar owner whose output has drifted, whose monitoring stopped, or whose system is over about eight years old.

Steps and timing vary by state, network and system. Your quote confirms them.

What it costs

Your roof, your switchboard, your access and the size you actually need all move the number, so we price it properly rather than publish a figure we would have to revise. You get a fixed, itemised quote with every incentive already deducted.

What may apply to this

Federal · both states

  • No rebate for servicingNot available

Maintenance does not attract a rebate in any state. This is priced as the job it is.

No amounts, on purpose: they change, sometimes mid-year. We confirm your actual entitlement in writing and show it as a deducted line on your quote.

What gets checked

A solar system has no dashboard warning light. A failed isolator, a disconnected string or a degraded panel will not announce itself; it just quietly produces less, and most households do not notice until a quarterly bill is higher than it should be.

We test the panels, isolators, wiring, inverter and battery, check the monitoring is actually reporting, and give you a written report of what we found. Anything that needs work is quoted separately, so the check itself is a diagnosis rather than a sales visit.

What you get

Included as standard.

01

For any system

Ours or someone else's. A system installed by a company that no longer exists is one of the more common reasons people call.

02

Diagnosis, not a sales visit

The report says what we found. Anything that needs doing is quoted separately so you can take it elsewhere if you want.

03

Safety first

DC isolators are the single most common failure point on Australian roofs, and a failed one is a fire risk rather than a performance problem.

04

Performance against expectation

We compare what the system is producing with what it should produce, which is how quiet degradation gets caught.

05

Monitoring restored

If the app stopped reporting months ago, that gets fixed, because it is your early warning for everything else.

06

Before you sell, or after you buy

A health check is worth having when a house with solar on it changes hands in either direction.

Every two to three years for most systems, and sooner if output has dropped, the monitoring has stopped reporting, or the system is over about eight years old. Battery systems benefit from a slightly shorter interval.

Yes. A good share of this work is on other companies' installations, including ones where the original installer is no longer trading.

You get it in the report with a separate quote for the fix. There is no obligation to have us do that work, and we would rather you got a second opinion than felt cornered.

Often, yes, because the faults that matter most are the ones that do not announce themselves. A failed DC isolator is a safety issue long before it is a performance one.

Yes, where one is fitted: state of health, charge and discharge behaviour, and whether the backup circuits still do what they were set up to do.
